Reclusive artist Enid Pinxit's cryptic paintings begin bleeding into reality, forcing a jaded detective to solve a murder that hasn't happened yet.
Synopsis
In a rain-soaked Paris gallery, Enid Pinxit's latest exhibition draws crowds and corpses. Each canvas depicts a crime moments before it occurs, painted in the victim's blood. When detective Lena Voss discovers her own face on the final work, she hunts the artist through hidden catacombs and forgotten ateliers. As the paintings rewrite history, Enid reveals she isn't predicting death—she's bargaining with it, one brushstroke at a time.
The story
Lena Voss is assigned the case of a murdered patron whose death matches Enid's newest painting exactly. She tracks the reclusive painter to her crumbling Montmartre studio, where unfinished works already show Lena's impending end.
Lena confronts Enid and learns the paintings are alive, feeding on regret. As more victims die in perfect replication, Lena must destroy the final canvas or sacrifice herself to save the city from a painted apocalypse.
In the flooded catacombs beneath the gallery, Lena burns the last painting and frees Enid's trapped soul, but the fire reveals a new blank canvas—signed by Lena herself.

Cold open
INT. PARIS CATACOMBS - NIGHT Rain drips through cracked stone. A lone flashlight reveals a fresh canvas propped against a skull-lined wall. On it, a woman in a red coat lies dead in the exact spot where DETECTIVE LENA VOSS now stands. The paint is still wet. LENA (whispers): "This wasn't here yesterday." She reaches out. The canvas ripples like water. A single drop of blood falls from the painted wound—landing warm on her shoe. From the darkness behind her, a soft brushstroke sound echoes.
Why now
In an era of predictive algorithms and viral dread, this story taps our fear that art—and technology—can now script tomorrow, making audiences confront whether we are creators or creations of our own doom.
