Synopsis

The story

ENID PINXIT (58), paint-smeared and wild-eyed, stands before a massive canvas. Her brush moves in frantic strokes. The painting shows a man in a raincoat lying in an alley, throat slashed. ENID (whispering to the canvas) Not tonight. Please, not tonight. She adds one final red brushstroke. The eyes in the painting blink. Behind her, a shadow detaches from the wall and slips out the door into the rain.
