Cold open
INT. ENID'S STUDIO - NIGHT Rain lashes tall windows. ENID PINXIT (30s), paint-splattered smock, stands before a half-finished canvas of a man whose eyes seem to follow her. She dips her brush. The painted figure's lips move. JULIAN (O.S.) How do you know what I'm hiding? Enid freezes. Julian steps from shadow, rain-soaked coat dripping. ENID I don't paint what I see. I paint what wants out. She turns the canvas. Julian's portrait now shows a knife in his hand. Both stare at the blade that wasn't there a moment ago.
