A viral painting by reclusive artist Enid Pinxit begins erasing its real-life subjects from existence, forcing a burned-out archivist to step inside the canvas before she vanishes forever.
Synopsis
In present-day London, archivist Lena Voss discovers that Enid Pinxit’s latest Instagram painting matches her own childhood apartment down to a coffee stain she made yesterday. As friends and strangers from the canvas start disappearing from photos, records, and memories, Lena realizes she is the next figure in Pinxit’s series. She tracks the artist to a crumbling studio where unfinished canvases breathe and whisper, and learns Pinxit is not painting the world—she is painting it away to escape her own fading existence. Lena enters the largest canvas through a rip in the linen and finds a shifting dream-city where every street is a brushstroke and every person is trapped in their final pose. Navigating galleries of half-finished lives, she confronts versions of herself that Pinxit has already painted and discarded. With reality thinning around her, Lena must convince the artist to finish one last painting—her own freedom—before the entire canvas folds in on itself.

Cold open
INT. LENA'S APARTMENT - NIGHT Rain taps the window. LENA VOSS (34) sits at her desk scrolling. Her phone lights up with a notification: @EnidPinxit just posted. On screen: a painting of a woman at a desk exactly like hers, down to the half-drunk coffee and the tiny scar on her knuckle. Lena touches her own knuckle. The coffee stain on the canvas is still wet. She looks at her real mug. Same stain. Same angle. Her phone buzzes again. The painting now shows her phone in her hand. LENA (whispers): That’s not possible. In the painting, her painted self turns to look straight at her.
Why now
In an age of algorithm-driven self-erasure and AI images rewriting memory, this story taps the collective dread that our digital selves are being painted over by unseen hands while we quietly disappear from our own lives.
