Synopsis
Li Mei runs a clandestine midnight clinic where clients pay to have their worst nightmares rewritten into peaceful dreams. Each night she slips into their minds via an experimental neural headset, reshaping trauma until a mysterious new patient arrives whose nightmare is identical to the night Mei lost her daughter. As Mei dives deeper the dreamscape begins bleeding into reality: clocks run backward, her daughter appears in every session, and the patient reveals himself as a projection of her own guilt. The more she tries to fix the dream the more it rewrites her memories, blurring the line between healer and patient. With her own mind fracturing Mei must navigate a collapsing labyrinth of shared dreams to confront the truth: the only way out is to finally let her daughter go.
The story
Li Mei opens her underground dream clinic in Shanghai, helping anxious clients escape nightmares while hiding her own loss. A viral tweet about her service brings in a wealthy enigmatic client whose dream matches the night of her daughter's death.
Inside the client's mind Mei encounters her daughter alive and begging to stay; every rewrite fails as the dream fights back, pulling real-world elements and forcing Mei to question which memories are real.
Mei merges her consciousness with the dream, sacrifices the illusion of her daughter, and wakes to find the client was her own subconscious projection; she closes the clinic and steps into an uncertain sunrise.

GIRL Mommy, you're late again. Mei freezes. The drawing is a car crash. The lullaby becomes a heartbeat monitor flatlining. MEI (voice cracking) Xiao Yu... The girl reaches out. The room folds like origami.
