Synopsis

In the sun-drenched hamlet of Quillhaven, clocks tick backward and ideas literally float on the breeze during the rare Fine Day. Young tinkerer Elara Voss, stuck in her late father’s failing workshop, discovers her sketches spring to life. Joined by a clockwork-obsessed orphan, a disgraced poet-inventor, and a runaway heiress, she races to finish the Wonder Engine before sunset locks their miracles away forever. Corporate tycoon Harlan Crowe has other plans: he plans to bottle the day’s magic inside his gleaming tower and sell it to the highest bidder, turning curiosity into a commodity. As flying bicycles duel dirigibles and talking blueprints argue philosophy in the streets, Elara’s team must outwit Crowe’s goons while learning that ambition without wonder is just theft. At the stroke of twilight the final gear clicks into place atop the clock tower. Instead of destroying Crowe’s machine, Elara rewires it to flood the world with free ideas. The Fine Day ends, but its spark ignites everywhere, proving invention belongs to the curious, not the powerful.

INT. VOSS WORKSHOP - DAWN
Dust motes dance like fireflies. ELARA VOSS, 19, goggles perched on wild curls, sketches a flying bicycle. The pencil lifts from paper by itself; the drawing FLUTTERS, folds, and lands as a perfect miniature bike that pedals across the bench.
ELARA
(whisper)
It’s… happening.

PIP, 12, bursts through the window, pockets full of ticking gears.
PIP
Elara! The pigeons are spelling words! The whole town’s gone mad with ideas!
ELARA grabs her father’s notebook as sketches peel off walls and hover, glowing. Outside, a brass band of self-playing instruments marches past. Elara’s eyes ignite with terror and joy.
ELARA
Then we have until sunset to build something that lasts.
