Synopsis
Ten-year-old Lucy feels invisible until her beloved alley cat Lancelot begins speaking in archaic verse and wielding a glowing sword from an ancient collar. Together they must rally neighborhood misfits to seal a rift spilling darkness into their world before Lancelot’s knightly spirit fades forever. As battles rage in backyard kingdoms and school hallways, Lucy learns that true courage means fighting for the ones who believe in you first.
The story
Lucy rescues scruffy Lancelot from the pound and notices strange medieval behavior. A shimmering rift opens in her backyard releasing shadow creatures that only they can see.
Lancelot trains Lucy as his squire while they gather unlikely allies; the shadows possess Lucy’s rival and threaten her family, forcing a desperate quest to the town’s ancient wellspring.
Lucy wields Lancelot’s blade in the final battle, banishing the darkness and restoring her cat’s spirit; the town awakens changed and Lucy finds her voice among new friends.
