A horror writer's viral tweet about a cursed phone that rings from beyond the grave begins killing followers in sequence, forcing him to break the chain before it reaches him.
Synopsis
After posting a chilling thread about a haunted smartphone that calls the dead, struggling screenwriter Marcus Vale watches in horror as real people from his mentions start dying exactly as described. The phone begins ringing for him at night, showing footage of the next victims—always one step closer. Racing to delete the original post and uncover who or what is weaponizing his words, Marcus descends into a nightmare where his own imagination has become the killer.
The story
Marcus posts the tweet during a late-night writing session and wakes to news of the first death matching his story; he dismisses it until the second victim appears.
More deaths occur while the cursed phone haunts Marcus with visions and calls; he tracks survivors and confronts online obsessives who refuse to let the thread die.
Marcus confronts the source in an abandoned server farm, sacrifices his digital legacy, and ends the curse—but a final notification suggests the story has already spread elsewhere.

INT. MARCUS'S APARTMENT - NIGHT Rain lashes the window. MARCUS (35), unshaven, types furiously on his laptop. The screen shows a Twitter thread titled "The Phone That Rings When You're Next." MARCUS (V.O.) One ring for every follower who read this. He hits post. The like count ticks up instantly. His phone vibrates on the desk. Unknown number. He answers. STATIC. Then a child's voice whispers his own tweet back to him. Marcus hangs up. The phone rings again immediately.
