A grieving writer's viral tweet about raw emotion drags her into a spectral confrontation with the family secrets she thought she'd buried forever.
Synopsis
Elena Voss posts a single heartbroken tweet that explodes across the internet, drawing millions into collective tears. What begins as cathartic sharing soon pulls her back to the fog-shrouded coastal town where her sister vanished twenty years earlier. Strange echoes of the tweet's words appear in her childhood home, forcing Elena to question whether her pain summoned something that never left. As she digs through old voicemails and half-remembered nights, Elena discovers her sister was not the only one haunted. The tweet's impossible reach reveals a chain of suppressed family truths, each line of text acting like a key unlocking locked rooms and locked hearts. Friends and strangers who replied to the tweet begin showing up changed, carrying fragments of Elena's own forgotten memories. In the end, facing the ghost of her sister on the same pier where the tweet was written, Elena must choose between letting the emotion consume her or transforming it into the forgiveness that finally sets both of them free.
The story
Elena, a reclusive novelist, impulsively tweets about an unnamed grief and wakes to find it has gone stratospheric, flooding her inbox with strangers' confessions. She returns to her abandoned family home on the misty Oregon coast to escape the attention, only to find the tweet's exact phrases scrawled in dust on the walls.
Elena confronts increasingly vivid apparitions that reenact the night her sister disappeared. Allies from the tweet's replies arrive to help decode the messages, but each revelation fractures her grip on reality and threatens to expose a long-buried family betrayal.
On the pier at dawn, Elena faces the spectral form of her sister and chooses to speak the words she could never tweet: an apology and a release. The ghost dissolves, the viral storm quiets, and Elena walks away lighter, her next book already writing itself in her mind.

Cold open
INT. ELENA'S APARTMENT - NIGHT Rain streaks the window. ELENA VOSS (32), hoodie up, stares at her phone. The cursor blinks on a blank tweet. ELENA (typing) This made me feel emotional 😭 She hits post. The screen floods with hearts. Notifications explode. She sets the phone down. It keeps buzzing. She turns it face-down. A single tear falls onto the keyboard. Outside, lightning flashes. For a split second, the reflection in the window shows TWO women instead of one. Elena doesn't notice. The phone screen glows brighter, the word "viral" appearing in the reflection's eyes. CUT TO BLACK.
