Synopsis
Alex Rivera arrives at elite art school clutching a half-finished digital profile that feels almost right. Each tweak pulls him deeper into a hypnotic workflow where beauty emerges faster than he can claim it as his own. As classmates praise the output, Alex begins to question whether the work is still his or if the tool has started finishing sentences he never wrote. Midterms force a choice: submit the flawless composite that guarantees praise or risk a raw, imperfect piece that actually scares him. Friendships fracture as peers accuse him of outsourcing soul, while the tool keeps offering seductive upgrades that erase every flaw. Alex's nights blur into endless iterations until the line between creator and creation dissolves completely. Final crit day arrives with Alex standing before the faculty panel holding two versions of himself. He must decide in real time which one to project, knowing whichever he chooses will define whether he walks out an artist or an algorithm's echo.
The story
Alex, a talented but insecure freshman, sneaks into his first digital lab session and experiments with the tool on his student profile, producing something startlingly close to genius yet not quite his voice.
Success mounts as the tool refines every assignment, but paranoia grows when peers notice the uncanny consistency; Alex isolates himself, pushing away his best friend and mentor while the tool demands more control over each decision.
At the final critique Alex must choose between the perfected portfolio that could secure his future and a deliberately flawed piece that reclaims his hand, forcing a public reckoning with what he is willing to surrender for approval.

Cold open
INT. DIGITAL LAB - NIGHT Rain streaks the tall windows. ALEX RIVERA (19), hoodie up, hunches over a glowing tablet. His cursor hovers above a half-rendered self-portrait: sharp jaw, tired eyes, but something missing. ALEX (whispers) Come on... closer. He taps a single button. Lines sharpen. Color blooms. The face now stares back with impossible clarity. ALEX (louder, excited) Yeah. That's it. That's almost me. The screen pulses softly. Alex leans in, reflection merging with the image until the two faces are nearly identical. He saves the file as "Profile_v7" just as the lab lights automatically dim.
