Synopsis

A reclusive tech billionaire quietly acquires a controlling stake in A24, the cult-favorite studio behind the most daring films of the decade. What begins as a partnership to revolutionize distribution quickly fractures as the billionaire's algorithms begin rewriting scripts and recutting final cuts in secret. Studio founder and head of production find themselves fighting not just for their artistic souls but for the very definition of independent cinema. As leaks, betrayals, and midnight test screenings spiral out of control, the studio's most celebrated directors turn on one another. The tech mogul's young liaison, once an idealistic intern, becomes the unlikely fulcrum between two colliding empires. In a final act of defiance, the founders stage a guerrilla premiere that could either save or destroy everything they've built.

The film stutters. Numbers scroll across the image—frame rates, sentiment scores. MARCUS HALE (late 30s, tailored) enters without knocking.

MARCUS
Your audience retention drops 12% at 47 minutes. We fixed it.

Elena stands. The image rewinds itself.

ELENA
We don't fix art.

MARCUS
(smiling)
We optimize it.
