Synopsis

Alex Kane, a nocturnal trailer cutter who fabricates blockbuster previews for cash, ends his latest fake promo inside a half-collapsed temple where the credits roll over a living sarcophagus. When the exact chamber is unearthed in Luxor the next morning, Alex is pulled into a web of scholars, assassins, and studio executives who all want the final frame he never meant to shoot. As each new trailer he cuts accelerates the prophecy, Alex must decide whether to finish the story or let the ancient reel finish him.

The story

Act I

Alex’s gritty LA editing bay life collapses when his fabricated final scene matches a breaking archaeological discovery; a mysterious package arrives containing 1920s film stock stamped with his own face.

Act II

Teaming with rogue Egyptologist Lena Voss, Alex races through Cairo and backlots while rival producers and a secret order hunt him; every trailer he cuts now predicts the next attack in real time.

Act III

In the Valley of the Kings, Alex screens the completed reel inside the original tomb, confronting the choice to burn the negative and sever his lineage or let the connection rewrite history itself.

Cold open

INT. ALEX'S EDITING BAY - NIGHT
Rain needles the frosted window above racks of glowing monitors. Alex Kane, 34, unshaven, hunched over a keyboard, drags the final shot into place: a golden sarcophagus cracking open in slow motion. The temple walls pulse with hieroglyphs that look suspiciously like his own fingerprints.
ALEX
(whispering to himself)
Last scene always sells it.
He hits render. The sarcophagus lid slides. A single eye opens—his eye—staring back from the screen. The power cuts. In the dark, the monitors flicker back on by themselves, showing the same shot now filmed on grainy 1920s stock. The hieroglyphs spell his name.
