Synopsis
Elias Quill has lived his life as a walking film archive, quoting obscure lines from forgotten movies instead of speaking normally. When his only friend, a small-time fence, is kidnapped by a crew of paranoid criminals, Elias is forced out of his apartment and into a single chaotic night of Los Angeles underworld mayhem. His strange habit becomes both curse and superpower as every line he utters either escalates the violence or reveals hidden clues the gangsters never expected.
The story
Elias is introduced in his cluttered apartment, quoting classic films to his pet parrot while his fence friend begs him for one last favor. A botched pickup leaves the friend held hostage and Elias in possession of a mysterious briefcase.
Elias infiltrates the crew’s hideout, his nonstop quoting driving the criminals to the brink while inadvertently exposing their betrayals and the briefcase’s true contents.
In a blood-soaked diner standoff, Elias delivers the perfect final quote that turns the gang against itself, rescues his friend, and walks into the sunrise still muttering movie lines.

Cold open
INT. ELIAS'S APARTMENT - NIGHT Neon leaks through cracked blinds onto towers of VHS tapes. ELIAS QUILL, 28, wild hair, bathrobe, feeds a parrot. ELIAS (whispering) "I’m your huckleberry." The parrot squawks back the line. A knock. VINCE bursts in, bleeding. VINCE They took the case, Eli. Said they’d skin me if I don’t bring you. You gotta talk to ’em. ELIAS (flat) "You talkin’ to me?" Vince stares, terrified. Elias simply grabs his coat and follows.
